Community invited to support severely injured post-9/11 Veterans during Military Appreciation Month

BELOIT, WI. (May 01, 2026) — In honor of Military Appreciation Month, Geronimo Hospitality Group is inviting its communities to come together for a meaningful cause: to support severely injured post-9/11 Veterans through the national nonprofit Homes For Our Troops (HFOT).

Throughout the month of May, guests, team members, and community partners are encouraged to take part in this effort. Every dollar raised will directly support HFOT’s mission to build and donate specially adapted custom homes for Veterans who have sustained life-altering injuries in service to our country, helping them regain independence and rebuild their lives.

Supporting the mission is simple, and every contribution makes an impact. Community members can donate online, scan QR codes available throughout Geronimo Hospitality Group properties, or round up their bill at participating locations. “During Military Appreciation Month and throughout 2026, we’re incredibly thankful to Geronimo Hospitality Group, Hendricks Commercial Properties, and AJ Foyt Racing for standing alongside Homes For Our Troops in support of our nation’s Veterans,” says HFOT President/CEO Brigadier General (USA, Ret.) Tom Landwermeyer. “The patriotic spotlight of the AJ Foyt Racing No. 14 Chevrolet during the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 will help amplify awareness for this campaign and its goal of raising $250,000 to support specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans and their families.”

As the nation turns its attention to the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, Geronimo Hospitality Group is proud to partner with AJ Foyt Racing and sponsor the No. 14 Chevrolet, driven by Santino Ferrucci. The car’s patriotic design pays tribute to the Veterans who have served our country and supports the powerful mission of Homes For Our Troops.

“Supporting those who have sacrificed so much for our country is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Rob Gerbitz, president and chief executive officer at Hendricks Commercial Properties and Geronimo Hospitality Group. “Through this partnership with Homes For Our Troops and AJ Foyt Racing, we’re proud to rally our community around a cause that delivers lasting impact for Veterans and their families.”

These initiatives reflect Geronimo Hospitality Group’s ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting those who have served across the country. Throughout 2026, Geronimo’s goal as a collective is to raise $250,000+ in a year-long partnership with Homes For Our Troops. Foyt, the all-time leader in Indy Car championship titles (7) and wins (67) including four Indianapolis 500 victories. That winning tradition continued beyond Foyt’s driving career, with the team adding another Indy 500 win plus seven more victories and two more titles. Today, AJ Foyt Racing competes in the NTT INDYCAR Series with Santino Ferrucci behind the wheel of the No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet and rookie Caio Collet driving the No. 4 Combitrans Amazonia Chevrolet.

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT)

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries, including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, blindness, severe burns, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country and enable them to focus on their family, their recovery and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans. For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
