BELOIT GOLF PRO TRAVIS BECKER HONORED AT WISCONSIN PGA AWARDS

Beloit Club Director of Instruction Earns 2020 Youth Player Development Award

BELOIT, WISC. (April 7, 2020) - Local PGA Professional Travis Becker, director of instruction at Beloit Club, Ironworks Golf Academy and Ironworks Golf Lab, has been awarded the Wisconsin PGA Youth Player Development Award for 2020, recognizing excellence in junior golf and youth development.

With more than 15,000 golf lessons under his belt, Becker, who joined the Beloit Club in 2016, works with students from throughout the Midwest through his junior golf programs that now reach more than 400 kids annually.

“Youth instruction and development holds a special place in my heart, and I’m honored to accept an award that highlights my passion for the students I have the privilege of coaching every day,” Becker said. “My junior golfers at Beloit Club and Ironworks Golf Academy are like family and building relationships with each individual is what I love most about my job.”

The PGA of America is the world’s largest working sports organization, home to more than 28,000 expert golf professionals who are dedicated to growing, teaching and managing the game. The Wisconsin section is one of the 41 affiliated regional sections, with more than 500 members and associates from the upper peninsula of Michigan to nearly the entire state of Wisconsin.

“As a fellow PGA member and on behalf of the five PGA/LPGA members at Beloit Club, Ironworks Golf Academy and Ironworks Golf Lab, we are honored to work with such a dedicated and incredibly talented individual and instructor in Travis Becker,” said Kent Instefjord, general manager of the Beloit Club, Ironworks Golf Academy and Ironworks Golf Lab. “His passion for exposing and improving golf games for people of all ages is evident 365 days a year.”

Becker adds this recognition to a growing list of awards and accolades, including WPGA Teacher of the Year (2015 & 2019), WPGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year (2009) and Golf Digest By-State Top Teacher List (2016). He is a five-time recipient of the Top 100 Club Fitter with Titleist and Ping, a Certified Club Fitter with Titleist, Ping, TaylorMade, Callaway, and PXG, and a SAM PuttLab Level 3 Coach.

Becker was officially recognized at the 2020 Special Awards Reception held at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Green Bay.
